Minimally invasive nerve decompression

Hydrodissection

This video is a capture of a brachial plexus that I performed in my clinic. It serves as a good example of a technique many pain management providers refer to as hydrodissection. An injectate solution containing specific medications and/or substances tailored to your medical problem are injected in a fascial plane between two layers of myofascial tissue (often times, two muscles) to decompress the nerve.  Nerves are very small structures. If you've had a nerve injection without ultrasound guidance, this may have had anesthetic spread to the nerve, but would not achieve a successful nerve decompression by hydrodissection. I perform this procedure to pretty much any nerve that can be viewed on an ultrasound. I do not inject intra-thoracic or intra-abdominal nerves such as the celiac plexus.
